Financial Control and Compliance
To make your first move into a private equity firm in a financial control role, you will almost certainly be an ACA with relevant financial control experience gained within a fund management situation. You may report to a more experienced financial controller or become instantly responsible for all financial and compliance issues in a smaller fund.
To excel in this role you will
- have a good first degree and first time ACA passes,
- have some experience of fund accounting,
- relish the financial management challenges that private equity funds create,
- be prepared to do everything that is required financially in a small firm - from credit control to VAT as well as the more complex fund related requirements,
- enjoy working to numerous deadlines,
- look forward to the challenge of understanding the changing value of the portfolio of investments and
- enjoy the stimulation and challenges of a private equity environment
You may also get involved in compliance and company secretarial work as well as working with the fund's advisers on the most tax efficient structures for the business.
